The High Court today directed the BTRC to immediately remove all confidential and personal pictures of actress Mithila and director Fahmi and university student Rumpa from all social media and online news portals. The News has published on 8th December 2019.
The court also issued a rule asking the government why its failure to control publishing personal and confidential information and pictures of people on social media and online news media should not be declared illegal.
In the rule, the HC also asked the respondents to show cause why they should not be directed to control publishing the personal and confidential picture and information and other elements of citizens on the social and online media.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mustafizur Rahman came up with the order and rule following a writ petition filed by Barrister Tahsina Tasnim Mridu seeking a necessary order.
