Head-on collision of Bangladesh trains kills 16, over 50 injured when two intercity trains collided head-on in Kasba Upazila of Brahmanbaria. Chittagong-bound Udayan Express from Sylhet and Dhaka-bound Turna Nishita collided near Mondobhag Railway Station around 3:30 am on Today.

“One of the trains might have broken the signal, leading to the tragedy,” one police official, Shyamal Kanti Das, told reporters.
Firefighters, police, border guards and army officials were all at the scene to assist with the rescue operation.
Railway accidents in Bangladesh happen relatively frequently, many at unsupervised crossings, and also because of the poor condition of tracks.
